DAY 9 UNDARA TO EINSLEIGH RIVER

Up and at ‘em. 15 km upwind and seemingly uphill to the main road. Bruce lost his tail lights so turned back to find them at the last grid we’d crossed.  Rest rode the tailwind at 30km/hr almost to Mt Surprise 40km later. Burgers for lunch at Mt Surprise and attempted to resupply at shop. We took 2 of 3 of their packets of pasta and a few other bits.

Pushed on 40 km to Einasleigh River for the day. Big discussion as to where to camp – on the old low level causeway, in a bywash, or in the river bed. Bruce found the perfect campsite on grass slightly above the water level. Even an old camp-fire with some left over wood.  

I got a flat rear tyre so Brian and Bruce replaced it while i lay down trying to recover.
