DAY 7 JUNE 24 SUGARBAG YARDS TO UNDARA LAVA TUBES RESORT

On the way about 8:45 am. Long rolling hills to the Forty Mile scrub. Stopped there for lunch, rest and see if there was water at information bay – there wasn’t.

A kilometre further was a roadside composting toilet which did have water tank off roof.  Filled my water bottles but  didn’t end up using it.

Turned off Kennedy Highway onto Normanton road at the toilet. An excellent downwind run had us checked in at the Lava Tubes resort by 2pm. Booked an ‘active’ tour (some rock scrambling)  and off to campsite to erect tents, do washing, charge batteries etc before restaurant for dinner at 6pm. An excellent corned beef dinner, 2 beers ond off to bed.
