Day 1 18 JUNE Cairns to Kuranda

Summary – stuffed

Everyone enthusiastic packing and organising from unit at The Lakes Resort. Very pleasant 2 days thx AirBnB and Peter and Mende.

Left about 10am along Aeroglen Road which quickly turned into bike track to edge of town.

Soon at bottom of Kuranda Range.

I made it 175m up before stopping the first time. Christine soon had the lead with me lagging long last getter tired-er and hotter with every gasp and ‘meditation’ with head on handlebars on the way.

Got to Kuranda Forest Retreat Caravan Park about 2 pm and 27 km after leaving. Collapsed a gasping heated wreck.

Checked out town, had ice cream before Brian cooked dinner.
