LEJOG DAY -2 LONDON!

Everyone crashed fairly early, like by 8 pm as the jetlag and excitement caught up. Being so tired meant that four of us mixed genders sharing the same family room at the Royal Eagle in Paddington couldn’t keep us awake.

The Royal Eagle in Paddington, clean and family room big enough for four

All slept well last night (I was the only one to wake when the hotel manager knocked at 11:30pm and admonished me for not locking the hotel room door). Finaly got Jane on the tube today (no tickets, just tap credit card, watch or your magic ring) and go. 180 degrees in the wrong direction as usual.

Found our way to Greys Inn Road for special event. Watch this space.

Lunch of the best vegetarian sandwich I have ever had with tofu and lovely light bread. Same price as Tammy’s pannier in Victoria Park.

Now where are we? And where is BIG Ben, the Millenium Bridge, and Sainsburys.

Post Script: Actually a beautiful day in London seeing Leicester Square, Piccadilly, Oxford St, Big Ben, The Embankment, Horse guards Parade for a start on our 26 km walk for the day. Cup of tea and bed.

Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre rebuilt near original site south of the Thames
The Millenium Bridge, cable stayed and originally wobbled dangerously if too many people walked on it
Big Ben at the Houses of Parliament – security is very high, machine guns carried openly
Trafalgar Square – Hillary and John enjoying the sun (before it went away)
