LEJOG DAY -3 Dubai to UK airspace

Finally got a red wine with a meal! Probably good not to drink alcohol with the chronic dehydration on 19 hour flights (11.5 Perth- Dubai, 7.5 Dubai – London). Emirates Airlines meals are big, four course including entrees, salad, meat and dessert. And the cabin crews are efficient and friendly. Well done Emirates.

An hour from London and finishing lunch (butter chicken curry, the English national dish).

I am amazed by the diversity of races, cultures and nationalities both as crew (at least six different nationalities working on Perth-Dubai), passengers and in Dubai transit. The anti- globalists need to calm down and let the 8 billion people on the planet have the same opportunities as the 300 million Westerners in 1978. Globalisation has happened and we are not at each other’s throats). Skill up and get a place on the team!

Only dow n side is as Jane said, we are misssing access to Google at affordable data rates becuae we use it so much. Today’s McCafe coffee talk in Dubai – Stuart “badgers are in the same Order as dogs and bears” true or false? Google – ‘false ‘, badgers are a type of weasel.

Emirates may have tightened their luggage allowances but their meals (three between Perth and London) make sure that your belt is also tighter

Arrival at Stanstead Airport was uneventful, got to the luggage carousel and my bike box came in upside down as the bottom had dropped out of it! I had forgotten to tape it shut. Credit to the baggage handlers as nothing was missing. Well done guys.
