After a beer and barramundi dinner at the camp restaurant and early night it was a moderately early morning start for the 26 kms in to Wyndham. Wyndham is definitely a small town but has its attractions. I was very surprized that the local small supermarket had a reasonable range of mobile phones. I bought one as my Sony had stopped working but as usual, once I had bought a new phone the old one started working again after a software reset (press power and volume-up buttons together).
- ‘the biggest boab in captivity’ in the caravan park
- a statue garden celebrating the mythical dreamtime creators of the local aboriginal peoples
- a decent 4 km hill of 1:10 with bits of 1:7 to test the legs for the rigors ahead.
There was a very large concrete crocodile outside the post office but big crocs are a dime a dozen up here.
