New chain as previous was 3/32 inch overlong over 12 inches, (reasonably worn), took the rear cluster off and cleaned it in turpentine, washed the bike, put on new pedals as right hand one was starting to wobble and wouldn’t want a failure in Woop Woop and mounted an extra 3 spokes (unfortunately lightweight 1mm rather than heavy duty ones) to the downtube in addition to the three in the brazed-on spares mounts.
Then pulled out the old tent (don’t want to damage the new Big Agnes on the thorns in the Kimberley or wear holes in it bouncing over the corrugations), old leaking Thermorest (ditto not new one to avoid punctures), medium temp sleeping bag (10C) and cotton liner, and raincoat and a puffer jacket. A few spares (25 mm hose clamps, 4 M bolts, chainlinks, puncture kit, four spare tubes, spare Schwalbe Marathon Greenguard tyre, chain tool and multitool, grease, chain lube, cable lock, headlamp and toiletries kit.
Mulling cooking gear (Trangia?), and clothes.
