Packed up and a visit to the composting toilet shed at the Duck Creek RV park (the only facility there besides hardstands, no water).
The second and third days of a cycle trip are usually the hardest – the legs haven’t hardened to the work required and are stiffening from the exuberance of the first day. This was no exception.
Anyway a lovely day of relaxed cycling, past Wyloo Station nestled amongst the hills, for a first break under a mulga tree. And there in the dirt before us, an old bicycle tube presumably abandoned by a previous adventurer. This sort of thing happens quite often as cyclists tend to seek out the same comfortable tree or creek bank to camp on or for a rest break. Throwing old tubes away is wrong though. Carry it to the next bin, please!
A few low hills greeted us before crossing the Beasley River and turning off the highway to the Cheela Station campground. One last steep pinch over a dune got us to the campground where we lucked on BBQ night. A Mexican bean hamburger (the station owner’s wife is a Texan) settled us for the night.
