Why The Great Central Road?

Because it is long (over 7000 km coast to coast), isolated as it travels through desert and remote pastoral country and unsealed which adds an element of difficulty that won’t be there when it is sealed in a few years time.

More, it is under a huge sky. And the ground is heavy and pulls you down in a way I find awesome.

Why now?

Because I’ll turn sixty on the road and every year a little more of me stops working as effectively as it has in the past. Now or never!
